Will the engine ever be available to the public?

Errr maybe someday...the code is not ideal because I'm the only coder I don't have to comment it too much, and I have a lot more freedom...so I'm not sure if you'd want it Very Happy

I think if you opensource it under the LPGL people will add comments, update it, and what not. Just my 2 cents.

Also this is a bit off-topic,
But did you make all those models in Milkshape3D?

Right well in order to add comments you gotta know what the code is doing and I'd imagine some of the 100k+ lines of code would be difficult to figure out without many comments.

I havn't written any of this code with the intention of making the game open source, and since it's multiplayer and I'm going to be selling it, I don't think making it open source would be possible. Otherwise why would anybody buy it if they can just d/l the source.

Anyways, maybe some day. If you have any questions about any part of the engine / etc. I would be glad to explain.

And yep... everything except the players / vehicles was made in MS3D.

Oh yea, regarding the other questions you sent me in e-mail -

1) Nope the game isn't going to have a linear story, it's not that typ eof game...think counter-strike / battlefield / age of empires multiplayer...the focus of the game is the multiplayer.

2) I've never used Torque so I can't really speak about it Smile It seems good, also Ogre is looking better and better with each of their updates.
