do you need a pixel shader to play gangwar, because i know that my laptop doesnt have one, and will USB controllers be able to control the character?

Actually it does require PS.1.4...though I can make it work with PS1.1....it really just requires Vertex Shader 1.1 because hardware skinning is pretty much required for a decent framerate. I started making the game on a laptop w/no pixel shaders so I feel your pain, but that was like 3 years ago Smile

yeah...

i think its time for me to get a new laptop, mine's about 3 years old

i just dont put any games on my desktop because that PC has loads of important files on it


and, will USB controllers work with the game?

Hmmm that is a good point, Thing is the game isn't very suited towards using a controller. Maybe the "control" aspects of the game, but it'd be nearly impossible to give orders / navigate the city in the RTS mode with a controller. You'd have to switch back and forth between mouse/keyboard and controller.

I think you'd be better off sticking with the mouse, so I don't think I'm going to add controller support... though if you reallly re-he-heallly want me to I'll see whta I can do.

nah you dont have to do anything

besides if i realy need a controller, i can configure my nintendo DS to act as a mouse and keyboard

Well if you'd like to use a controller w/ the game there are probably 1000s of other people out there who would want to also....so I gotta consider these things.

Right now becauseof the RTS aspects I'd personally consider a controller to be an issue, but if you want to switch between the two, or something else...I could work that out Smile
