Hoi!

Nice game you got there, I love the art too Razz

Well, I got a small question, how do you store the cities/maps? Is it somekind of heightmap file + a huge ms3d mesh, or pieces like 1 mesh per building?

Ps. Neat anti-bot-question XD, but sadly it didn't seem to be an apple :F

Actually since the game uses a tile based system storing the maps ends up being trivial with the largest maps being <100KB including all roads/terrain/command points/etc. The traffic/AI/object nodes position are built at load time from the map, also the final heightmap positions are resolved at load time Smile

I want to have an intergated custom city/map browser in the game, and I want to allow people to upload their custom maps to my servers...since the file sizes are so small.

Also glad you like how the game is looking, and thanks for posting.

P.S. Yeaaa The anti-bot question is borked....but it does keep the bots away Smile

I see, so the buildings are placed each by each in the city editor? How about the roads, are they textures for each direction/corner or somekind of automatic-terrain-texture? Razz

hmm...I'll think of more questions to waste your time after I get home from school again, have fun coding Wink

I've been doing heavy development on the city editor / format the last few days...

http://www.radioactive-software.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=288

should have a lot of information on road placement / building placement...

I'll also have a better update in a few days with the finalized city editor Smile
